Types of Flooring

Traditional (Solid) Hardwood

Solid hardwood is made from a single piece of natural wood throughout its thickness. It can be sanded and refinished multiple times, offers exceptional longevity, and is typically installed using nail-down methods. However, it is more sensitive to moisture and temperature changes, making it less suitable for basements or high-humidity areas.

Engineered Hardwood

Engineered hardwood consists of a real hardwood top layer bonded to multiple layers of plywood or high-density fiberboard. This layered construction increases stability, reduces expansion and contraction, and makes it more suitable for areas with fluctuating humidity or concrete subfloors. While refinishing potential is more limited than solid wood, it provides excellent durability and versatility.

Vinyl Flooring

Durable, water-resistant, and low-maintenance, vinyl is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. It mimics the look of wood or stone while offering comfort underfoot and excellent resistance to scratches and moisture.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate features a high-definition photographic layer that replicates hardwood at a more affordable cost. It is easy to install, resistant to fading and wear, and well-suited for living areas and bedrooms.
